The house is located in the Charente-Maritime area of western France, about 50 miles north of Bordeaux, between Saintes and Cognac, very close to the Charente River and within easy reach of the coast.

The Charente-Maritime is the second sunniest Department in France, which is why it is said to be in The Golden Crescent.
